Official says bomb kills 6 in northwest Pakistan (AP)

PESHAWAR, Pakistan, ? A local government official says a bomb blast has killed six people in a remote town in northwest Pakistan.

The official, Ahmed Jan, says two members of an anti-Taliban militia are among those killed in the Sunday bombing.

He says the explosives were planted in a donkey cart left unattended in a market at Mastak town, some 75 miles (120 kilometers) northwest of the city of Peshawar. He says it was a remote-controlled blast apparently targeting the militia.

Militants from the Taliban in Pakistan often target militias allied with the government in its drive against militancy.
