One of the first things that come to mind when many people think of all-inclusive vacations is a sun-kissed ocean resort. Sand and surf and soaring temperatures are common destinations for all-inclusive vacation packages, but they aren't the only ones. For people who prefer pristine powder and large verticals, all-inclusive ski vacations are also an option. Just as with trips to a sun baked resort, you don't have to pay for everything separately when you head into the mountains to ski. There are several elements that go into most ski trips, and by finding the right vacation packages, you just might get most of them included in one price.

The whole attraction to all-inclusive vacations is the fact that several parts of your trip are included in one price, and that one price is usually quite a bit lower than if you'd paid for everything separately. As with any all-inclusive trip, your ski trip package will include airfare and accommodations. It will also probably include your food while you are there, and possibly your drinks. Vacation rentals like skis, boots and poles are included, as are the ski passes to get you on the slopes and trails each day.

After the basic handful of inclusions, your package may vary depending on how much you paid or the offer from the travel company. Some ski trips will include lessons from a ski professional while you're there, or luxury amenities usually reserved for higher end vacations. Your accommodations might include ski in, ski out vacation rentals, which essentially place you right on the hill for easy access. These kinds of accommodations help to cut down on travel time and time spent on the ski lifts and in lines, which maximizes your time spent on the slopes. The type of place you will stay in is something you can work out with the travel agent when you set up your ski vacation.

It's always a good idea to get an all-inclusive ski trip that offers some flexibility in terms of which elements are included. As an example, if you are an avid skier, you probably have your own boots, skis and poles and won't need to make use of the free rental from the ski resort. By having some flexibility to choose, you might be able to add some other element to the package like more appealing accommodations or some nightlife to go with your meals.

Try to sit back and envision your trip and run through a typical day. Think of all the parts of that day you'd want to be taken care of as part of the all-inclusive package. You know you need airfare and food, and although you'll spend a lot of time on the hill vacation rentals are also important. Ask where the hotel or condo is in proximity to the hill, so you know it is a worthwhile add-on. Ask lots of questions and make sure every aspect is how you want it, and you'll have a ski vacation to remember.
